Prywatne Muzeum Polsko-Amerykańskie - Hell's Angel

Muzeum poświęcone jest lotnikom brygady "Hell's Angel", którzy zginęli zestrzeleni we wrześniu 1944 roku nad miejscowością Zygodowice.

Wizytówką Muzeum jest ekspozycja poświęcona amerykańskiemu bombowcowi B-24 Liberator o nazwie "Hell´s Angel" i jego jedenastoosobowej załodze, która została zestrzelona po bombardowaniu zakładów chemicznych w Oświęcimiu 13 września 1944 roku. Samolot rozbił się w Zygodowicach - w małej miejscowości nieopodal Wadowic.

Eksponaty na wystawie w prywatnym muzeum pochodzą z poszukiwań w ziemi na miejscu katastrofy, część od mieszkańców okolicznych wsi, inne to rzeczy osobiste lotników z "Hell's Angel".

Zygmunt Kraus - właściciel Muzeum w swej kolekcji zgromadził wiele części samolotu, rzeczy osobiste, zdjęcia, dokumenty pilotów - jest to owoc jego wieloletnich poszukiwań. Wszysztkie prezentowane ekspontaty są w 100 % oryginalne.

Oprócz upamiętnienia lotników, którzy zginęli, muzeum posiada eksponaty ukazujące wieloletnią współpracę wojskową pomiędzy Polską a Stanami Zjednoczonymi. Przed Muzeum "Hell´s Angel" stoi pomnik strażaka ku czci ofiarom z 11 września w USA. W Placówce zaprezentowano ponadto kilka ekspozycji: Polscy Piloci w Walce z Nieprzyjacielem - szereg pamiątek, rzeczy osobistych, dokumentów po najlepszych polskich lotnikach pochodzących z okolic Wadowic, Polonia i jej historia - bogate zbiory dokumentów z m in. Ignacym Janem Paderewskim i Józefem Hallerem, Karol Wojtyła W Otoczeniu Swoich Przyjaciół Malarzy.

Na szczególną uwagę zasługuje manekin z kompletnym ubiorem amerykańskiego lotnika oraz oryginalne śmigło stosowane w bombowcach typu "Liberator", podarowane przez Amerykanów.

This book fills a gap in the existing literature on how parties and party systems are developing in the new democracies of post-Communist Central and Eastern Europe.
